A Living Will is actually not a Will at all. This is simply a health care directive. It clearly tells health care providers whether to take extreme measures to keep a person alive, even when there is little hope. It will also direct health care providers on whether to provide pain relief, even if it could hasten death. Why is creating your Living Will a good idea?

These type decisions are extremely difficult for loving family members to make and can cause great amounts of guilt and anxiety. Making the decision ahead of time can save a family from having to struggle with such decisions when you can’t make them for yourself.

Go ahead and get this taken care of with your will, if you don’t have one yet. It’s the right thing to do.

Let me know if you would like to discuss your Living Will.
